The Problem

The flower preview application faces challenges both in physical stores and on the digital platform, such as the inability for users to preview bouquet products in-store and the need for more comprehensive information about bouquet contents. Users also express a desire for increased efficiency in placing orders and improvements in navigation, search functionality, and visual appeal within the app. Resolving these issues is vital to improving user satisfaction, engagement, and sales for the application.

The Goal

The flower preview application aims to enhance user satisfaction by improving in-store experience, enhancing product transparency, streamlining order placement, and optimizing digital user experience. This will ultimately meet user expectations and drive increased engagement and sales.

User Research: Summary

For the flower preview app, I conducted extensive user research using a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. Surveys with five participants provided statistical data on flower preferences and purchasing habits, while phone interviews revealed deeper insights into users' emotions and concerns. The research identified distinct user groups with various needs and pain points, informing the app's design process to address these critical concerns effectively.

Pain Points:

  1. User Experience Challenges in Physical Stores
  2. Insufficient Product Information
  3. Efficiency in Order Placement
  4. Digital User Experience Concerns

Going Forward

  • User Feedback Iteration: Gather more feedback from users to further refine and enhance the user experience. This could involve conducting surveys, interviews, or usability testing sessions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Feature Expansion: Consider adding new features based on user requests or emerging trends in floral design. This could include features such as the ability to save favorite arrangements, share designs with friends, or access a wider range of flower types and colors.
  • Integration with Floral Vendors: Explore partnerships with floral vendors to integrate seamless purchasing options within the app. This could provide users with the ability to directly order the flowers they preview, streamlining the purchasing process.
  • Enhanced Customization Options: Offer users more customization options for their floral arrangements, such as adjusting the size, shape, or arrangement style. This could cater to a wider range of preferences and occasions.
